BioA native of Barnwell, South Carolina, Thomas Taylor is a Chemical Technician and has worked in chemical manufacturing for his entire career. Mr. Taylor is also a retail business owner, landscape artist, master-outdoor chef (at home), tree shade mechanic and handy man.
The inventor of Clean-Bev was influenced early in life by a talented local inventor who fueled Mr. Taylor’s passion for innovation. A love for the outdoors continues to inspire him to make chores easier and simplify outdoor living with his inventions. Notably, Clean-Bev is Thomas Taylor’s second patent.
When not at work or business, Mr. Taylor is busy in the yard or firing up the barbecue. Although these are both non-paying gigs, he does get quite a few compliments on both. They both require being outside for long periods of time and hydration is the key to accomplishing them. Of course, his latest invention helps him stay hydrated in a manner that also preserves the cleanliness of his drink.

How I came up with the Idea
I have owned several lawn mowers and all had cup holders. I have always thought that they were useless because of how dust and debris stirred in while in use. Then, some time later, my wife gave me a tumbler and I thought that it was an amazing drinking vessel that keeps one’s drink cold or hot for several hours. After using it for a while, I thought that it would be nice if I could actually have it with me while cutting grass and doing yard work instead of stopping what I was doing to get a drink.
One windy Sunday, I was cooking on the grill and had my yeti tumbler with me covered by a paper towel to prevent bees and flies from getting to it. As it turned out, I spent more time chasing after the paper towel than cooking. So, I switched to aluminum foil, but that was not much better.
Frustrated but determined, I went into my shop and fabricated a rough flip lid for my cup and Clean-Bev was born. My wife said that it would be useful at outdoor gatherings or parties because it would be hard for someone to put something foreign in your drink. My niece, a professional nurse, saw it and said that it would be extremely valuable for workers at doctors’ offices and hospitals. Since it covers the entire top, it would reduce the potential for healthcare professionals to get sick from patient germs and viruses in the enclosed office environment. Indoors or outdoors, Clean-Bev keeps your tumbler drink CLEAN!
